Laura Freeman

One of the greatest pleasures in life is being challenged, and ultimately succeeding. This project still ranks among my top projects due to the fact that I was able to help push the design of these homes in a completely personal direction using many of my own exterior design preferences. Burgin Homes originally asked for a sketch of a home based off of a crude napkin drawing of a home they were hoping to build within their planned community. After researching home design, elevation illustration, and incorporating my own creative sensibilities, I took this project and ran with it. As you can see, this project began with a technical sketch using pen and paper, which was then scanned and meticulously colorized by hand using photoshop design tools. Following this design project, I created a neighborhood sign for the builder which featured this home; the design of which was ultimately used as the inspiration for the design direction of the entire neighborhood.
